Jack’s Ridge Resort & Restaurant is located at the top of the Shrine Hills in Matina. It serves as the home of Taklobo Restaurant, Kai’s Bar, Karlo’s Coffee, Kool Kats Pool, BMW Piano Bar and Penmar Hall.
Jack’s Ridge is one of the top tourist attractions in Davao City. The combination of famous restaurants/ bars and a resort that offers a spectacular view of Davao City help make Jack’s Ridge a staple on every tourist itinerary.
Since entrance is free, Jack’s Ridge is a favorite spot for families, friends and even lovers. The mini park provides these people an area for relaxation while admiring the view of downtown Davao. And yes, there’s also a playground for kids plus a beautiful pool to boot.
Though there are many other things to like about this resort, the one thing that strikes me most about Jack’s Ridge is just how it tries to help promote Davao. For example, there’s this large sign telling us why Davao City is “the home of Royalties.” There’s also a display of Taklobo shells along with a short story about the origin of these shells.
Posted below are some photographs I took when I visited the place last night. I apologize for the poor quality of some of these photos. I’m not a professional photographer and I have trouble taking quality photos at night.
Thanks for looking. ![]()

Benches are all over the mini park, allowing you to just relax, admire the view and enjoy the cool air.

Davao Memorial Park, just below the Shrine Hills where Jack’s Ridge is located.

The children’s park at the other end of Jacks Ridge.

The pool.

Souvenir items for sale.

Karlo’s Coffee Station right beside Taklobo Restaurant. Something tells me that my friends from Cebu, especially Meream Pacayra, would love this place.

Trivias, trivias, trivias. Gotta love them!

Nature and rock n’ roll meshes well together.
