Pros: Possibly the best non-beach tourist destination in Davao City. Cons: Too far away from the city proper.

One of our company meetings was held at the Mountain Hall of the Eden Nature Park around February of last year. Although I’ve read and heard a lot about Eden before, last year’s trip was the first time that I’ve been to the park.
The trip to Eden was rather long, taking us around an hour or so. In fact, it was so gruelling that some of us quickly dozed off at the Mountain Hall upon arrival.
After our early afternoon meeting, our boss encouraged us to explore the Park with him. First stop was the large playground, where some of my officemates had a grand time with the “Indiana Jones”. Later on, we passed along other attractions such as the Vista Kiosk and Cottages, the Garden Hall, the Aviary, the Ampitheatre Garden, the Vegetable Garden, and many more.
My favorite spot at Eden is the Flower Garden. I also liked the aviary, which featured several birds in large cages. Simply an awesome sight.
Since it’s been a year after I last visited Eden, I’m now planning to go back there this summer, but this time with my family and girlfriend. Hopefully I can get better photos of the place this time around. And to those who are not familiar with Eden but are eager to visit, simply browse their official website or call at +63 82 299-1020 and +63 82 296-0791. Eden’s Sales and Reservations Office is located at the Matina Town Square along McArthur Highway, fronting Ateneo de Davao Grade School.

Even grown-ups like us had fun with Eden’s “Indiana Jones”.

Papa Lench takes time out to pose with these beautiful statues.

Chillin’ at the hanging bridge. I’m the one flashing the “V” sign.

Just one of the massive trees at Eden.

If you don’t want to pay for the guided shuttle tour, you might as well prepare yourself for one long, punishing hike.

The Flower Garden

The gang surrounded by flowers. One of my favorite photos ever.

The group takes a rest after a gruelling hike from the Mountain Hall to the Flower Garden.

The Ampitheatre. An astonishing site… even under the hot, scorching sun.

The Fishing Village. You can actually catch live hito and tilapia here… but of course you will have to pay for your “catch”.

nice pics ram! i love eden park. i went there only once and it was in the afternoon. it was a guided tour, but i would probably have enjoyed it more if we hiked. too bad, we didn’t get to see everything because of time constraint. i will certainly go back there in my next visit to davao, maybe stay there for two days.
thanks ma’am cielo. funny though that we failed to take pics of the vegetable garden and the aviary… we were so overwhelmed by the place that we forgot to take photographs. hehe. hopefully the next time i visit the place, i can get better photos.
and about hiking instead of the guided tour… believe me ma’am, midway through the hike (around the ampitheatre), most of us were already asking that we just ride a nearby L300 “shuttle”. but the driver was asking 150php per head though, hahaha.

Nice entry here… I have been there twice already and its really a nice place.
The hike??? I did love doing it! It maybe tiring but not exhausting. ^^
