Just one of the many astounding photographs by Davao-based professional hobbyist, Paul Borromeo.

I was browsing around for pictures of the 2008 Mutya ng Dabaw candidates last week when I stumbled on the flickr page of Paul Borromeo.
I’ve never been high on photos of people, prefering instead shots of sceneries or even everyday objects. But when I saw Mr. Borromeo’s well-executed shots of the five finalists in the open field, I instantly became a fan. It’s not everyday when you get to see a photograph of beautiful women, and be more impressed by the quality of the photograph than just the faces of the models.
Last week, I had the chance to exchange emails with Mr. Borromeo. After talking about the photo credits of pictures used in my previous Mutya blog entries, I asked if I could feature him and his photos in this blog. He humbly accepted my request and shared with me some information about himself.
Anyway, Mr. Borromeo is a professional hobbyist who considers photography as a balance in his life. He currently works for Prulife UK and uses a Nikon system for his output. He also says that doesn’t have photography clients but has shot for various magazines ranging from food to glamour.
Posted below are some photographs I culled from Mr. Borromeo’s flickr page, with his permission. If you want too see more of his photos, please check out Paul’s flicker site here.

Can’t take my eyes away from this incredible photograph.

Lo and behold… simply one of the best photos I’ve seen.

In black and white… but full of life!

And finally, here’s a couple of shots of the 2008 Mutya ng Dabaw, Mary Jean Lastimosa.

Starting with this entry, I’ll try to feature talented Dabawenyos I know of. I actually wanted to feature my best buddy and IT expert Reynaldo Mendoza here long ago, but he’s says he’s too shy
Thanks for looking
