Pizza lovers all over the city rejoiced when Yellow Cab Pizza opened its first branch here in Davao more than two years ago. As expected, the place was an instant hit, and their pizzas has become a cult favorite for Dabawenyos who in previous years had to make do with the Shakeys, Greenwich and Pizza Huts of the world. Not that there’s anything wrong with those Pizza outlets of course, but it never hurts to have more choices.
When I was still working in Cebu, Yellow Cab was just one of the top two Pizza restaurants that people usually frequent. This might interest you, but the other top Pizza restaurant I’m refering to doesn’t have a branch yet in our city. And yes, I’m talking about Sbarro Pizza restaurant.
I’m a sucker for all cheese pizzas, and I like what I’ve gobbled up from Shakeys and Pizza Hut. But when it comes to cheeses, Sbarro’s pizzas are much better than those two, at least for me. And to think the Pizzas I’ve eaten from Sbarro weren’t exactly fresh… my parents had to bring them over here during their trips to Manila and we had to re-heat them. Considering the fact that I was already wowed by their reheated pizzas, what more if I’d get to eat them fresh?
This is the question that gets into my head everytime I remember Sbarro Pizza. And I just wish that this question gets answered soon – not in some Sbarro outlets from Manila and Cebu, but here, just right here in Davao.

the irony is that i never bothered to eat out at sbarro when i was still in cebu… i guess i was just intimidated by posters showing bacons, sausages and other porky stuff topped on their pizzas

i miss sbarro!!! hehehe if there’s a proposed outlet with sbarro concept, i hope its not as high priced in cebu or manila… i dont earn a lot anymore here in davao compared to cebu that i always drown myself with there pizza and pasta… i hope that the prices are regional too based on regional wages!! hehehehe
