The graduating class of Davao High School (also known as Davao Provincial High School), 1932. Photo taken four years before Davao’s inauguration as a chartered city in 1936. That same year, the school’s name was appropriately changed to Davao City High School. The school is still operational today, and is now known as Davao City National High School (DCNHS).
Anyway, this photo is owned by Robert Bula, who also sent me the photo of cadets marching in my previous blog entry. The girl with the red mark at left is Mr. Bula’s aunt and previous owner of this photograph, Estelle Torkelson. Mr. Bula adds that back in those days, Davao High School was located at Bolton street just after Magallanes toward the riverside. Many thanks to Mr. Bula and his family for this wonderful photograph.
