Molave is located at Jacinto Street, right between the Ateneo college campus and Export Bank.

Sometimes, I can’t help but remember the old local restaurants in Davao City during the late 80’s and early 90’s: Barrio Gaisano, Honeybear, Goldies, Merco, Peter Pan, Dennis Burger, DeliHouse, Plaza… the list goes on and on.
Some of these restaurants/ food houses are now gone. Others have defied both time and the arrival of popular fast-food chains/ restaurants – and are still operating today.
Included in this list of old school local restaurants still around is Molave, a small food haven located at Jacinto Street, just right beside the Ateneo College Campus.
Our office is located around this area. But since my budget usually limits me to meals right around 50-60 pesos, I rarely eat at Molave.
Now, I’m not saying that Molave is an expensive restaurant. For a restaurant offering quality foods and services, their prices are actually reasonable.
Anyways, since I was alone for lunch earlier today and had this sudden craving for burger patties, I decided to pass by at Molave. I ordered their sampler number 2, consisting of 2 grilled burger patties, rice, side dish and iced tea. This meal is worth only 115 pesos. The patties are thick and tasty. Walang sinabi ang McDo at Jollibee. Needless to say, it’s definitely a winner (at least for a burger junkie like me).
Based on their menu, Molave’s specialty dish is the greaseless chicken, which I haven’t tried yet. But hopefully, I’ll be able to try that the next time I’m there.
Besides the food, I’m impressed with the hospitality and comfort that the restaurant provides. The waiters are very courteous and friendly. The restaurant itself has a nice interior, complete with interesting decors and comfy chairs.
All these factors help make Molave a good dining place and certainly worth a visit. No wonder why this old school Davao restaurant continues to thrive after all these years.

looks yummy! i remember seeing Molave Restaurant along McArthur Highway. i could be wrong since that was back in the 90’s
well the ambiance is good.. nice ang place.. ok din ang greeseless chicken..
but
i disagree na ok duon!!! napahiya ako sa aking father when we ate dito sa molave. imagine a chopsuey na parang soup.. nung kinuha ko ang dalawang slices ng itlog with a very small slice of sayote and some shred cabbage, wala nang makuha si papa na gulay kasi puros sabaw na!! and that is worth P110 ha.. tapos when we called the attention of the waitress para ireklamo sa kanilang cook. sabi ba naman, “ganyan na talga ang timpla namin ma’am”.
another thing is ang kailang molave rice na worth P90. when the waitress said that molave rice is good because it is color red, i thought red talaga sya na rice.. ung rice ba na mabango na color red.. i forgot what kind of rice is that.. tapos when she served it, ketchup rice pala! tapos she said din na ung rice daw is topped with scrumbled egg.. scrumbled egg nga!! pero shredded na kasing liit ng shredded cheese sa mga spaghetti.. i dont think ginamit na yung 1 whole egg for that good-for-3 person rice.
sinumpa ko na yan na place
i just want to share 2 dos people who want to eat dis molave place to change ur mind!!! the place s suck!!!
i agree!!! this place restaurant sucks!!! low quality food and bad service.
I don’t know where all these comments are coming from, Molave has been around for quite some time and they’ve always provided good food and excellent service. We had our planning session there a couple of weeks ago and we had our fill of good food at a price that was very reasonable given the ambience.
And Ms. Kaye – you said the chicken was good, Molave INVENTED the greaseless chicken, so I don’t quite get why you’re not recommending the place because of the rice. For a Davaoena who grew up with Molave, the Molave Fried Rice is one of the things we went back for.
ganun ba? I just reserved a table there for lunch… My mother-in-law wants to eat there before leaving for US this evening kasi. Sabi nya she won’t leave till she get to eat there. Ako naman I spent most of my free time in Manila kaya I have no idea about Molave restaurant. Anyhow, if mama Jane wants to eat there, after years in the US, it must be good. I will post my personal opinion afterwards..
TrishPS my comments are actually based on my experience in Molave. Although there specialty is greeseless chicken, still they must put quality with the other foods that they serve.
Imagine a chopsuey without vegetables, ganahan ka ana?
Thats why, if my comment is like this, you cant question it because we have different perspectives.
hmmm..its so delicious..

Качество друзей тоже надо учитывать. Дональд Трамп, например, на двадцатку потянет.
